Armor at KC, Kaining Center, Just north of the marketplace and you can change your class at Senji's Corner.

Also, new skills are added to the skill trainers the further you progress in the game so keep checking them whenever you get to a new town that has one.

The armor at Kaineng Center is the max armor lvl already. Everything after that is different looking(sometimes better, sometimes worse) and more expensive, but the same armor lvl.

He can change his secondary profession at Senji's Corner by paying the "profession changer" 500g. I can't remember his/her name, however he has the profession changer title after the name. The 500g fee is for the first time only. Once he unlocks the profession, it free.

Actually the beginning skills are not worser than later skills. All of those have their use in different situations.
